We woke up this morning to find that the unassuming town of Plano, Texas had racked up over 75,000 votes. Surprisingly, they were legit.
Here's why.

I would like to know how you guys (Danny and Nina) found out about Ehrensenf... I mean, that you're able to track down all the German votes is one thing, but how did you know that this is because of Ehrensenf?

It's an anagramm of Fernsehen, which in turn means television.

i would really be interested in how you chose the towns for your poll. did you pick them randomly (putting down your finger on the map with your eyes closed or s.th. like that) or did you actually give it some consideration?
i really hope for you that there is something nice about Plano, as i am quite convinced the thing won't stop at 126.000 votes... ;)
I'm biased against all Dallas suburbs, because I am a snotty New Yorker whose parents live in another part of Dallas. I'd like to cast my vote AGAINST Plano. :)
If you moved there, at least you could still see indie movies at an Angelika theater!

@steff: The access logfiles of webservers contain the referring website. So with the usual statistic tools (like Webalizer) you can see in a second where the visitors came from.
Anyhow: Nice idea to let internet users choose your next home town.

Most of the Ehrensenf-Watchers are in love with Katrin. Therefore they will do whatever she said.

Anyway, I am quite sure 95% of the people in Plano won't even know there's a world beyond the Texan state border, except maybe Mexico, cause they'll build a fence there. And their English is different, but not better.
Personally, I'd hate to life in Texas, but I guess anyplace in northern Idaho might be just as dull and rednecked.

Judging from the view in Google Earth, Plano can't be much worse than any other average US suburbia. I bet when you look out the window, it could as well be Los Angeles, or Newark, or...whatever. Except for the people's accent and cowboy hats, of course.

I saw the Ehrensenf-show too, but voted NOT (i emphasize NOT) for Plano (at least not more than one time *bg*).
I voted several times for Sandy in the lovely state of Utah.
Because i wont risk a bad conscience by sending you to the texan desertlike heat.
But what is one vote against all the german nerds around me.
So have fun in Texas an just remember: i wasnt my fault.

Hmm, Plano... it doesn't seem do be smaller than my hometown. I came from Seligenstadt, Hessen, Germany. (50° 2'21.21"N 8°57'36.09"E).

Yes, you can see only a plain field next to a small farm. The photograph must be older than six years. "The google" is still sleeping. :-(
The fields in the north of the street now are fully cropped. You can't believe it, our houses are made of stone. Yes! Stones not wood! ;-)
If you'll ever have a trip to old europe or the old fashioned, peace loveing Germany, please feel free to visit us! ;-)
Anyway, I'm pretty sure, you'll need a powerful ac, down in the south, in your home made of wood. :-)
You'll also need a new slang. Texas - it's a little bit like Bavaria in Germany (Germany? Said I?) :-) I guess you will learn a lot of new words for colored people.

Wow! I'd never have expected so many votes in those 30 hours or so since yesterday's episode of 'The Ehrensenf' was released... seems like you're the victims of Katrin's humour and the ehrensenf-community.
You know it's quite easy to realize a million votes if you know how. Let's just say Firefox makes a lot of things easier. Much easier.
Or should I say 'mucho más fácil' to prepare you a little?
Oh well, I hope you will enjoy Texas if you really move there. Wouldn't be so nice if it's gonna be a flop and we'd all have to have a bad conscience.

Well, I'm quite sure that Danny and Nina were aware something like this could happen. As soon as one community finds out about such a voting this is what happens.
I personally didn't know that Ehrensenf is popular enough to cast thousands and thousands of votes, but obviously it is.
I'm sure Danny and Nina only picked towns they could imagine to live in - so Plano it is.
